Morgan Smith
A graduate of Columbia College at Columbia University and Mannes College of Music in New York City, Morgan was an Seattle Opera young artist (1999-2000) in 2001. He made his professional debut as Donald as Billy Budd. Smith is known as a Seattle popular and has performed various roles in other productions which include Don Giovanni, Silvio in I Pagliacci (title role), Riccardo I Puritani, Peter Niles Mourning Becomes Electra, as well as Count Alamaviva and Count Alamaviva in Le nozze di Figaro. Regular on the concert stage Smith has also performed in several other productions. Smith made his Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion, as well as debuted in the San Antonio Symphony for the North American premiere of Vier Praludien and Ernste Gesange, Detlef Glanert's orchestral interpretation of the well-loved cycle by Brahms. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony is also on the program, along with the Requiems written by Brahms Faure Mozart Durufle, and Masses C Minor Mozart Vaughan Williams as well as Bach's B Minor Mass. Handel's Messiah, L'Allegro Penseroso Moderato as well as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Bach's B Minor Mass, many cantatas as well as Bach's Weihnachts Oratorium.
